Romanova doesn't sigh with relief when General Karpov lets the issue of her being out go. She doesn't loosen her shoulders or change her expression, or anything that might suggest that she's in anyway relieved that her comment worked.

What she does is nod with a murmured, "Yes, Comrade General," and fall silent.



She might, though, wish that Winter's assessment of her sounded less like a pre-sentencing report.




(And she can spare some worry for Alex.
